I am trying to learn Arabic to speak with native Arabic speakers where I live. I’ve begun to learn Egyptian Arabic but questioning whether this is the best option. Where I live there are different dialects of Arabic spoken, and I believed Egyptian might be the best one to be able to connect with speakers across different dialects, as I’ve heard many Arabic speakers understand it. But there are not that many actual Egyptian speakers where I live. Do people think it best to continue with Egyptian Arabic or to pick one particular dialect, for example, Levantine, to speak with that particular group in their native dialect?
