It’s after sunset here and today is my first day learning Egyptian Arabic. I am passionate about this for a few reasons, I’d like to be able to communicate with many of the people who have come to live in my community, my grandfather was a translator who spoke Arabic and worked in the Middle East. Lastly, I am a bellydancer and while I may not be much of a singer, it’d be nice to be able to sing along to my favourite songs as I practice at home.
Aslaam Alaikum and I hope everyone is well.
