Hello

Maharban, my name is Anders, I come from Sweden and I got the idea of learning arabic earlier this week.

So needless to say, I don’t know a whole lot just yet. But every once a few years I get really inspired to do something, and i just run with it. This is my new project.

How did I end up here? I have scavanged the internet for good resources on speaking arabic. My motivation is being able to talk to people in their native tounge. Sweden has a generous immigration policy compared to the rest of the EU, resulting in serveral large arabic-speaking groups in our country, and more are coming (55 000 Syrians are expected to recieve residence permit this year alone). I would like to be able to communicate with them in their language.

Since my goal is talking with people, I found many other sources that put emphasis on reading skills or MSA not very rewarding. Therefore i was very glad to find this site, with its focus on speaking and real world applications. I read the latest blogpost about ideas for upgrading the site, and it seems very promising. I really hope this site becomes successful, and i will suggest it to my arabic learining friends. =)
