مرحبا يا جماعة

Hello everybody!

It seems like I’m the first one to post here! My name is Bernie and I’ve been learning Arabic for about five years now, focusing mostly on the Levantine dialect as well as MSA of course, although I’m always willing to diversify my palette and learn other dialects. I’ve lived in Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Qatar, and now I’m doing an MA in Linguistics and Language (the language being Arabic) at SOAS in London. Needless to say I’m not exactly a beginner, although I’m hoping to get that push from proficiency to near-native fluency, perhaps in part by using this new and interesting resource. I’m also willing to help out beginning and intermediate learners, as well as network with like-minded people who are interested in Arabic and/or native speakers of it.

I wish you all the best of luck in your learning, and I want to put out a humongous “thank you” to Donovan Nagel and everyone who has worked on this for providing a much-needed resource for the register of the language that is by far the most useful in day-to-day life in the Arab world.

Cheers,

Bernie
