Quick question, I read that the word زعلان can be used to describe sad - is that the best way to use it or when you’re sad is it better to say أنا حزينة

I was under the impression that زعلان meant angry, حزين more like sad or upset. Happy to be corrected if not.

Great answer Farhan, it’s true that زعلان is more like upset and حزين is more like sad. However there is a lot in common between these two words.
So for example,
you can say أنا زعلانة it can mean you are upset or sad
أنا زعلانة منك I am upset from you
أنا زعلانة من نفسي I am very upset from myself.
هو حزين لان مامته ماتت he is sad because his mom died.
